5 awesome weapons found in any manga/anime

In any action anime/manga a characters weapon becomes one of the most important things about them. A weapon can represent that particular character and in some cases, a character can be identified by their special ability.

The creativity found within any anime means that there are no boundaries, the viewer is always left feeling shocked and impressed by what the makers mind has produced. From its apparence in a manga novel to seeing it come alive in an anime, stroylines are often built around the special power the protagonist can produce. The weapons come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from ordinary ordinary yet iconic pistols, to legendary weapons used by gods.

Here are 5 of my favourites that I wish I could someone adopt in real life…

The Death Note from…well…Death Note

What’s more awesome than having a sinister looking black notebook that has the power to kill anyone whose name is written on the page? I’ll tell you what’s better…nothing! I’m sure we all wish we had the power to make the annoying person at work disappear or teach that guy who was too busy looking down at his phone to avoid walking into you a lesson.

So, maybe we wouldn’t want to kill the person (looks to the side to give an evil laugh), but having a little black lined notebook in our bag with the power to do that will make us feel like a God. Exactly how Light Yagami felt when he found the notebook drop to the floor in front of him. Maybe we can forgive Light for the murderous rampage he went on in the hit manga and anime.

All you need to do is write the full name of the person you wish to vanish, imagining their face as you write. The Death Note also allows the user to state the time of death and the exact way they die. Failing to write a method of death, the person whose name is in the book would drop dead from a heart attack. Pretty brutal. Death Note paints a vision of darkness, nihilism, and a world where good and evil isn’t a black and white matter.

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa from Soul Eater

With one of the best theme songs I’ve heard during my years watching anime, the weapons in the series are just as good as the music. Soul Eater’s Tsubaki Nakatsukasa stands out from the rest on the virtue of being an actual person.

In her humanoid form, she is a caring and forgiven woman making her kick ass attitude as Black Star’s Chain Scythe even more enjoyable to watch. When the bad guys show up with an aim to kill our protagonists, she’s ready to put boots to asses. When things get tough, she transforms into her inner demon by becoming a pair of an extremely deadly scythes with expandable chains that allows her master, Black Star, to challenge any evil beings from close powerful combat to tactical beasts from afar.

Three dimensional maneuver gear from Attack on Titan

Hailed as one of the fastest paced action you’ll see in any anime, Attack on Titan boasts some pretty cool weapons. Why wouldn’t it when the series is based on mountain sized human-looking Titans causing destruction to any village they come across?

To defeat these gigantic monsters our crew of optimistic warriors are going to need some pretty decent equipment to do so. Three dimensional maneuver gear allows our heroes to move with extreme freedom and mobility as well as giving them the ability to traverse great distances and heights almost instantly.

This is pretty handy since the only way these giant humanoids can be killed is by slicing out the nape of their neck. The only downside of the gear is that it takes a pretty hard military style bootcamp to learn how to use it. Though if it means I can kick some Titan ass then bring it on.

Kurikara from Blue Exorcist

A sword that open up the demon world sounds like one hell of a nightmare, but when you’re part demon anyway, it’s not so bad I guess. Kurikara or the Kouma sword is a weapon used by Rin Okumura, the protagonist of the Ao no Exorcist series. It is used to seal Rin’s demonic powers he processed due to him being the son of Satan.

However, here is where the series starts. Recently turning 15 years of age, Kurikara could no longer seal the son of Satan’s power any longer. When Rin takes control of the sword due to his master’s death, it becomes an item of combat to help Rin fight fellow demons who wish to bring him back to hell.

When the sword is drawn, it unleashes the demonic power that lies inside of the teenager. This power is accompanied by a pretty cool leaking blue flame that represents his demon power being unleashed.

The Sharingan from Naruto

With so many impressive powers the long Naruto series consists off, none are more impressive than Sasuke’s Sharingan. The Sharingan is the dojutsu kekkei genkai of the Uchiha clan, a family that were all murdered by Sasuke Uchiha’s brother, Itachi.

With the two the only remaining members of the clan (it isn’t until later in the series we learn of Madara Uchiha), they both contain the sharingan, as well as Kakashi Hataki who is limited with just one of his eyes containing the Sharingan. Whilst there are several different types of Sharingan, the main power that Itachi contains with his is the ability to suggest thoughts and actions to the targeted person once they have made eye contact with you, without the target being aware that their thoughts are being controlled.

The Sharingan’s user can implant any nightmare scenario they wish and will then take complete control of the targets body, which is visually indicated by the Sharingan’s design appearing in the target’s eye. I’m very tempted to buy Sharingan contact lenses and stare at people just to freak them out…
